Richard is celebrating 30 years at HSBC this year, having started his career back in 1993 as a General Insurance Broker. During this initial part of his career he gained a broad understanding of the industry working in sales, operations, product management and business development.
More recently, Richard has worked in HSBC’s Retail Banking Head Office, as a Senior Product Manager where he was integral to the launch into the Mortgage Intermediary market, from concept to roll out. During his time in this role, he had a varied remit covering the broker on-boarding programme, marketing, governance and vendor management, sourcing systems, risk management and product development. Before joining HSBC Life, in 2019, Richard spent two years in Group Insurance as a Senior Manager for Third Party and Private Bank channels, notably supporting the development of the UK strategy and working alongside markets globally.
In his current role as National Account Manager, he focusses on key relationships and our Network roll-out engagement as we continue to widen our distribution footprint. Demonstrating the continued development of our proposition, HSBC Life received our first industry accolade in 2022, for best CI product at the COVER Awards. Spare time is spent enjoying long walks in the beautiful Welsh countryside and following both Rugby and Formula 1.
